From 22 to 25 May 2025, the OTTERS project gathered participants in a Spring School for Educators and the “Waves of Change” conference in Oeiras, Portugal.

As part of the OTTERS project pilots, schools in Armenia have launched water quality monitoring activities to promote environmental stewardship and hands-on learning.

A focal point of the Climate Action Info Day entitled Taking Action: Saving the Future was the presentation by Professor Georgios Sylaios, head of the DUTH team in the OTTERS.

In the framework of the OTTERS project, partners from the Netherlands and Ukraine have been actively advancing Citizen Science initiatives to promote collaborative research and address environmental challenges.

On December 18, 2024, the OTTERS project hosted a seminar aimed at fostering collaboration between Armenian researchers and European aquatic scientists.

The OTTERS project organized two training workshops for teachers to integrate citizen science for water quality monitoring in their curricula.

The event offered students, faculty, and staff a deep dive into Armenia’s pressing water issues and how citizen science can empower communities to address them.

Franziska Stressmann (ECSA) and Laura Gavrilut (21c) represented the OTTERS team with the workshop titled “How to upscale, maintain, and coordinate Citizen Science in the Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters’ objectives?”.

The OTTERS 2024 summer school offered a rich environment for learning and socio-cultural experiences.
